Prior to joining Sakai, Michael served as Chief Operating Officer for ELT, Inc., a leading compliance training provider. He has also held leadership positions at DigitalThink (now Convergys Learning Solutions) and Cognitive Arts, an award winning custom e-learning developer. Michael got his start in technology-based learning at Stanford University’s Courseware Authoring Tools Lab and Apple Computer’s Multimedia Lab in the late 1980s. David Lyons received his undergraduate and master’s degrees in business administration from the University of Chicago.
				Lyons is currently a director of the American Skin Association and treasurer and chair of its finance committee. He is a director of the Research Foundation of the City University of New York and chair of its audit committee.  He has served on the boards and taken leadership positions in the affairs of several organizations and received numerous awards for accomplishments in higher education financial management including the Distinguished Business Officer Award from NACUBO. Mr. McGeary serves as the Team Leader of Library Technology and is responsible for the technology infrastructure in the Lehigh University Libraries, specifically focused on leading the development of efficient and dynamic solutions to connect library collections to users.  Some of the developments he has led include MyLibrary @ Lehigh, an electronic resources portal linking users from the campus-wide portal to a set of discipline-focused resources customizable by users, and co-founding the development of a VuFind connector for the SirsiDynix Symphony ILS.  Mr. McGeary has presented regionally and nationally on library technology development, managing electronic resources, open source solutions, and the Open Library Environment.  He is also published on topics of library technology and managing electronic resources as an investment portfolio.

He was a technical lead with Federal Express where he successfully lead an implementation of a large scale (mainframe) system to track package delivery.
				Afterwards, he co-lead the technical implementation of an Object Oriented system to replace the mainframe application, one of Fedex's first successful OO implementations.
				John resides in rural northern Colorado with his wife Tammy. They don't have children, but affectionately refer to their horses as the 'boys'. 
				They spend most weekends enjoying trail rides through nearby mountains, fly fishing local streams and rivers whenever possible.]]></bio>

He started as a student programmer in the Registrar's Office where he developed a student accounts module and progressed to all major student system areas: admissions, registration, financial aid, work study, student loans, degree audit, course catalog, commencement, scheduling, medical, dormitory, international students, research, dining, teaching evaluation, and graduate appointments. Norm is currently working on the Kuali Student project as part of MIT's larger Next Generation Student System's effort.]]></bio>

			<bio><![CDATA[Bill is an Associate vice Provost in the Office of Information Management at the University of Washington.   He heads the Enterprise Information Services division that is responsible for several services including the Enterprise Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Reporting, Web Services Architectures, and Enterprise Workflow.  He is Vice Chair of the University’s Data Management Committee which governs data access and use policies for the UW.  Bill has extensive knowledge of information management challenges in higher education.  In addition to working at the UW, he was a database analyst at the University of Iowa for several years.  He is currently the Co-Chairman for the Kuali Rice Board of Directors as well as the Chair of the Technology Roadmap Committee for the Kuali Foundation.  
				Bill was previously the Executive Director of Information Technology at SHPS Inc. an outsourced medical management organization. There he created healthcare applications and web sites, including data warehousing and reporting solutions, for disease and case management operations.  As a Senior Manager of Technology at Premera Blue Cross, Bill was in charge of developing healthcare data mining solutions.]]></bio>
