Kuali Days VII – Hotel Information (updated September 30, 2008)
The Newport Beach Marriott is essentially sold out over and beyond the dates of Kuali Days VII. A few rooms may be available, here and there, at the group rate but you will need to call and ask. Below are two hotel options for those that are still in need of a room.
The Island Hotel (approximately ¾ mile from the Newport Beach Marriott, walking distance for most individuals)

Room Rates: $199 - $349 per night (call for specific information), rates include complimentary in-room Internet access.
This hotel has several mandatory fees that you need to be aware of:
- $10 porterage fee, round trip
- $3 per night room attendant gratuity
- $3 room delivery charge (if items are delivered)
- $5 golf bag handling fee
Reservation Policy: The Island Hotel requires a deposit equal to the room rate and taxes for the first night of each reservation, to be charged to the credit card at the time the reservation is made.
Cancellation Policy: The Island Hotel requires that cancellations be received at least 7-days prior to scheduled arrival in order to receive a refund of the above mentioned deposit.

Cancellation Policy: ROOMS BOOKED AT THE GROUP RATE ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. If you wish to have flexibility with your reservations, you may need to book a room at a higher rate. Please ask about rates that offer more flexibility if there is chance you'll need to cancel your stay.

Hotel Rates: US $169 per night, up to four persons per room, plus applicable taxes, currently 10%, and a $0.20 per night California State Board of Tourism Commerce Fee. The group rates may be available three days before and three days after the conference dates, based on availability. If you have trouble reserving rooms for nights before or after the conference, at the group rate, using the online reservation system, it is suggested that you call the hotel directly.

Air and Ground Transportation The Orange County / John Wayne International Airport is 5 miles from the Newport Beach Marriott. John Wayne is serviced by Alaska, American, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Northwest, Southwest, United, US Airways and US Airways Express airlines.
The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is 45 miles from the Newport Beach Marriott and is serviced by many major airlines, both domestic and international.
Free airport shuttle The Newport Beach Marriott provides a free shuttle for guests to and from the airport once per hour. The shuttle picks up from John Wayne airport only, and can be found outside of baggage claim at the bottom of every hour, beginning at 5:30AM and ending at 10:30PM each day. When exiting the baggage claim area, look for a red and white passenger van with the Marriott's logo on it.
Taxicab rides cost approximately $15 from John Wayne airport and $100 from LAX. These fees are exclusive of gratuity. Taxis can also be found outside of baggage claim at both airports and are readily available during normal airport hours.
