Kuali Ready is a business continuity planning tool that is specific to institutions of higher education. Its aim is to increase the institution’s ability to keep operating in the face of disruptive events. Kuali Ready produces departmental continuity plans, and can be used by any type of department – instructional, research, support, administrative, collections, and clinical. Kuali Ready has always been offered as a hosted service.
Last month, we successfully completed the migration of Kuali Ready to KualiCo. KualiCo will now provide all services for hosting and support for subscribers to Kuali Ready. About 100 customers were migrated to the new hosting environment and to a new support model. There also is a new feedback process where subscribers can submit ideas, and provide input and comments about the product. A new online knowledge base is also underway, and will grow to incorporate frequently asked questions.
Jen Dalby, who is the KualiCo Product Manager for Kuali Ready, shared, “The most important piece of the migration for me was spending time with the customers and listening to their stories and visions of how to expand their use of Ready. I look forward to connecting the community to share resources and suggestions for increasing adoption.” I am excited about the enhanced customer focus that KualiCo is bringing to this very important product for those we serve. Risk Management on campus is a critical issue in higher education and Kuali Ready is a tool that can help leaders effectively manage plans and resources in this area. Jen also commented: “It was interesting to discover how many institutions struggle with the same issues, such as obtaining faculty buy-in. We plan to work with customers to develop resources, such as webinars and white papers that truly help them get the most from Ready.”
Our customers, the Kuali Foundation technical team, and the UC Berkeley team also helped in the migration process and we are very thankful to have their involvement.
This is an important milestone and we look forward to more good news about KualiCo’s progress.
